North York Music & Performing Arts Festival

A lot of musically inclined and talented people aspire to join the North York Music & Performing Arts Festival. The recently concluded 2019 festival was held last April and May and was participated by many. For next year, the registration will close on February 1, 2020, while the festival will take place on March 27 – 29, April 3 – 5, 17 – 19, 24 – 26, May 1 – 3. As they are committed to encourage new but exceptional musicians, they hold this competition annually to also promote awareness and appreciation to classical music.

Cultura Festival

Since Toronto has been known for having many multicultural districts, including North York, it is normal to have a celebration with regards to these cultures. One of these festivities is the Cultura Festival in North York. Celebrated every July on Friday nights, participants enjoy various musical and artistic performances, as well as great food from international sources. There are also outdoor film screenings at night and interactive art activities. And since there is no fee charged for participating in the Cultura Festival, many families join this celebration.

Cultura Festival is held every year in Mel Lastman Square at 5100 Yonge Street, North York.

Ontario Taste of Culture Festival

Another celebration of Ontario’s multicultural diversity is the Ontario Taste of Culture Festival. To be held next year on July 17 – 19, 2020, this one of a kind festival aims to celebrate the city’s vast multiculturalism. Over 3,000 people from 100 different countries will participate in this event for the first time. Expect a family friendly event as the Ontario Taste of Culture Festival will offer various activities for kids and adults. There will be face painting, rides, and an exclusive kids’ zone, as well as live entertainment and delicious foods offered at the pavilions.

The Ontario Taste of Culture Festival will be held at Downsview Park, near Downsview Park Merchants Market and Toronto Animal Services North Shelter. It is located at 70 Canuck Avenue, North York, Ontario.

Downsview Park Orchard Party

The orchard party is a harvest festival celebrated every autumn in North York. The event is free but can only accommodate a few participants; thus, a pre-registration is required. But it is indeed one of the most anticipated party, as they get to enjoy apple snacks and apple cider for free, as well as fun, wholesome activities for the family like tours of the orchard, forest nature walk, campfire, and a lot more. This year, they also added a U-pick at Fresh City Farms activity, wherein guests are invited to visit an operating city farm to pick their own fruits, herbs, and vegetables. Their friendly in-house farmers will also guide you on how and what to pick.

Downsview Park Orchard Party is held every September in celebration of the autumn harvest. The venue is at the south end of Downsview Park near Keele and Downsview Park Boulevard.
